  • Andrew is a recognized industry leader in financial services law and regulation.
  • Managing Director and Founder of boutique law firm, specialising in legal services to financial services clients.
  • Responsible for securing and advising key clients, practice and legal operations management.
  • Diverse regulatory experience in funds and investment management, banking, life insurance, superannuation, distribution having been involved in two Royal Commissions relating to financial services.

  • Adviser to Fidante Partners, a multi boutique funds management services provider in Australia, UK, Japan and Singapore.
  • Office/business establishments for Macquarie in Jakarta, and Challenger in Tokyo and Singapore including licensing, governance and other general corporate establishment issues. 
  • Advised on formation and onboarding of numerous boutique managers in Australia, and international distribution relationships with offshore managers.
  • Experience in clearing, custody, derivatives including OTC (Initial and Variation Margin arrangements), financial markets, market rules and agreements, trade reporting, Aqua rules, market participation, market making.
  • Offshore transaction experience in Japan, UK, US and Indonesia, and exposure to offshore Fund structures, Cayman, UCITS, Singapore VCC, US LPs.
  • For 7 years, managing a high performing team of experienced financial services and transaction lawyers for Challenger Limited, an ASX 100 financial services provider specialising in annuities, distribution and funds management. Appointed to Executive Management Team in 2018. 
  • Lead lawyer in establishing Challenger ETFs in 2019 including launch of the Ardea Real Outcome Fund (ticker XARO) as an exchange traded product 
  • Experienced in review of marketing and retention campaigns, considering changes to advice, commissions, end of grandfathering (FOFA).
  • Lead lawyer in Challenger funds management Covid-19 response program – focusing on continuous disclosure obligations, redemption powers, suspensions, liquidity management, careful review of trading experience and incidents.
  • Overseen the establishment of Challenger Investment Solutions – a derivatives overlay business involving several ISDA relationships utilised to help implement trading solutions for institutional customers.
  • M&A experience – leading legal advice on a major funds acquisition in the UK. Joint ventures while at Challenger and Macquarie.
